I'm still here!

I haven't posted in quite a while, I've been busy in my batcave, working on getting all this stuff together. It's coming along nicely. I should finish the footage by middle of next week. It would have been this weekend, but a few unforeseen events happened and interrupted my flow.

I should also have a little something posted tomorrow that I put on the back burner for a while. Also, I'll have a full download of another song/video ready to go by tomorrow as well.

1,000,000 2nd edit

I'm working my way through part 2 of 3 of the show right now, but I wanted to share some of the stuff I've worked on so far. I know I said I wouldn't post one by one, but I couldn't resist! So I uploaded 1,000,000 to YouTube.

I'm still working on the color for this one. That side camera on Justin's side is the hardest to blend into the rest of the footage. What do you guys think of the flow of the edit? I think it may have lost some of its chaos, but runs smoother. I think this video, Letting You and The Wretched are the most drastically changed edits out of all the ones I've done so far. The latter two are definitely changed for the better. 1,000,000 might need a couple of crazy cuts for the hell of it :P

And for comparison, the original:

Status update

Currently in: Phase 2: Second Round Edit, sound and picture refining (1-2 weeks)

Halfway done with my second round editing! It's going faster than expected, which is a good thing. Everything is synced, awkward cuts are removed and color correction is going well. I haven't played with the sound yet, I'm considering just leaving it raw. Also, sorry for the delays in replying to emails, I'm playing catch up with the messages tonight.

And for those of you requesting raw materials (video, stills, hard drive swaps, etc.) I might not be able to do that until after I complete the DVD. My time is pretty limited. I've been busy at work and I'm starting a new class next week, so my time window is closing. Sorry :( But I will get to it as soon as possible.

Also, official ordering has yet to happen, so when this is all done, you will still have time to get a copy. And if the demand is higher than my already high estimate, I can always order more media.

Project outline:

Phase 1: First Round Edit (Complete!)
Phase 2: Second Round Edit, sound and picture refining (1-2 weeks)
Phase 3: DVD movie project finalizing, Menu artwork creation (3-5 days)
Phase 4: Purchase materials, DVD/DVD box Cover art design creation and printing (1-3 days)
Phase 5: Post paypal/order information, start putting individual orders together (1 week)
Phase 6: Mail everything out! (until people stop requesting, or I can no longer afford materials)

Goodies!

The shipment of blu ray and DVD stuff came in today! I ordered standard black cases and slim cases (and envelopes) for the Standard DVD version and Elite Blu-Ray cases for the blu ray version and the corresponding discs. Yay!

New Videos & End of Phase 1!

Tuesday still counts as the weekend, right? :D

I have three videos coming today. Not all of them are up on youtube yet because it decided to break a number of times during upload.

God Given:

Hurt:

And In This Twilight is being uploaded, who knows how long it'll take to show up. borked. I'll post it tomorrow.

I'm also done with the TOIOU album art, look for a release of the CD for download shortly. It'll probably be announced here. I'm not really sure.

Now I can devote my spare time to second round editing and dvd menu creation. Here we go!

Thanks to everyone for voting in my poll. It really helps give me an idea of where to focus my attention. Look for DVD artwork soon!

The Good Soldier

A lot of the footage was way too dark. I had to color correct some of it just so you can view it. The color correction on this thing is nowhere near done. There's some big splotches of hideous green that you might see when viewing this video. Early apologies for that. It will be fixed. I also have to work on syncing some of those close up shots that I borrowed from Portland, they didn't synch up as well as others had before. I might have to ditch a couple of those angles. We'll see.

Just for fun...

Decided to put up this part in it's own youtube clip :)

I've been busy working on some stuff for TOIOU (you can see it in on my flickr page) so I haven't been able to edit too much the last couple days. But the Good Soldier, God Given and Hurt should all be done by this weekend.

Once I post In This Twilight, I might not post the final edits one by one on YouTube like I did with the first edits. I want to really concentrate on getting everything just right. :)

Echoplex + Project Timeline

I thought I wrote and posted a blog last night, I guess it got lost, oops! I finished Echoplex. I thought it came out well so far:

Thanks for everyone's input and feedback. If you have any questions or comments and want to reach me via email, you can now email me at SacramentoLITSDVD@gmail.com

Oh, and I have a few boxes of blu-ray stuff coming in the next couple days. Exciting! I'm not done with the footage or the menus quite yet, but everything's coming together.

I made this timeline on the NIN.com forum, hopefully it'll be useful here:

Artwork option poll + HLAH+ download Ghosts 31

So, I wasn't going to go shopping for DVD stuffs until later, but I had time today and looking at all the options made me giddy. I just bought more DL DVDs and a bunch of DVD cases (only place I can find blu-ray stuff is online :( ) But I was stuck on whether or not I should include artwork. It would make the price go up slightly. So I made a handy dandy poll over to the right. Just pick the right option for you. I'm leaning towards optional.

And the newest video, Head Like a Hole:

And click here to download Ghosts 31. 347 MB.

Blu-Ray Requests + New Video - THTF

I just wanted to clarify that there's not an official list yet (don't worry, those that sent their names in, I've taken note), so don't worry if you're not ready or didn't include your name yet. I'm just getting an estimate of how many disks I may need to purchase initially. I was just going to buy a 25 disk bundle, now I'll probably need more than that, haha. I'll begin official name/address collection in the next week or so. I'm still not sure on how I will organize that.

Meanwhile, The Hand That Feeds is up now:

I really like the one this came out, minus the first 20 seconds and a few quick cuts in the middle.

Only video + non-youtube Survivalism

My newest edit, Only:

The footage was pretty dark, so I'm going to have to work with this one a bit more and see if the Portland show has some angles I can borrow.

Thanks to everyone that sent in their names and head counts for blu-ray list. I might need more media than I expected, but that's cool. :)

In the meantime, I have uploaded Survivalism to megaupload per request. It's 602 mb, sorry about the size. I'll have to find a good way to compress these things for those of you that want non-youtube clips without sacrificing too much quality.

I just finished The Hand that Feeds. It's being exported in Adobe now and should be up on YouTube later in the morning.

Because You Tube compression is shitty...

I wasn't impressed with the way Wish came out on YouTube. The strobe lighting (or size of the file? Or the direction the wind is blowing outside?) chokes the video stream and gives it a delay. Here's the YouTube version:

So, I have gone ahead and uploaded it to megaupload for direct downloading. It's 553 mb, in mpg format. It's nice to view everything a bit closer and bigger too! I would upload more, but I figured the size of each file would deter people. If you do have a particular song that you would like to download, let me know.

New video - Ghosts 31

My newest edit - Ghosts 31:

I still need to fix it up a bit more, but it has a good feel so far. I am close to wrapping up my first round of editing and I have been going through my other videos to begin my second round of editing. Visit my YouTube playlist to view more.

The Beginning

First of all, thank you to everyone for your support and comments (good and bad) regarding my edits. I wanted to create this blog to better organize the project I'm working on and keep people in the loop on my progress.

I'm planning on releasing two different DVD/Blu-Ray concert versions. It is up to you if you want both. The first dvd will contain footage from the Sacramento show. The second DVD will have a mix of both Sacramento and Portland footage. Both versions will be available in either DVD or Blu-Ray and downloadable via torrent.

I am not sure how much the physical copies will cost yet, but I am aiming to keep this very cheap, $2-$4 for Standard, $5-10 for blu-ray. For those that can't afford that, there will be the torrent downloads. I will also accept video trades for the standard DVD version. I will announce when I am ready to accept addresses/names soon. In the meantime, if you are interested in a blu-ray version, please let me know asap. I am trying to get a head count to purchase just the right amount of media.

Keep an eye on my You Tube page for more edits.
